they used a third party billing instead of emailing us directly for the renewal (which we would have cancelled) and pushed through our payments anyway. not impressed

Our subscriptions are processed through Paddle, which handles billing and subscription renewals for us. As with many software subscriptions, renewal-related billing emails are sent to the email address used at the time of the original purchase. In this case, the subscription had been set up several years ago and continued as a recurring renewal unless canceled.
We certainly understand how frustrating this can feel if those notices were missed, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We’ve now taken care of the cancellation/refund on our side and apologize for the inconvenience.
